Does a new Mobo and CPU require a new Win 7 install?

Hi, new to the forums and pretty much a PC novice...anyway I am updating a few components on my PC. I want a new video card, motherboard, CPU and RAM. Can I still use my old hard drive with Win 7? or will the new components not recognize it when I put the old HD back in?

you can use the old hard drive and use the old windows but for all the install i have done it works but it works better to reinstall windows.

Yes it will recognize the new components. But there is drivers to get those things running optimally.

I would backup the old hdd using some tool(like windows backup

), reinstall, restore the backup and update drivers.

Aaaaand, only as long as your OS isn't a OEM version because changing the motherboard is pretty much changing the system name.
