Hi, new to the forums and pretty much a PC novice...anyway I am updating a few components on my PC. I want a new video card, motherboard, CPU and RAM. Can I still use my old hard drive with Win 7? or will the new components not recognize it when I put the old HD back in?

Thanks for your help!

Yes it will recognize the new components. But there is drivers to get those things running optimally.

I would backup the old hdd using some tool(like windows backup :) ), reinstall, restore the backup and update drivers.
