I am building a pc starting with an asus m5a99fx pro r2.0. I want to a site ( not the manufacturers) and it said that ddr3 2400 works well with the board. After ordering the sticks, I saw on asus website that the highest rated speed for the board was 2133. Does anyone know if the ddr3 2400 modules will work with this board? Thanks in advance.

Yes but you have to overclock it which i dont recommend there is absolutely no performance increase from 2133mhz to 2400mhz totally not worth it in any way in my opinion.

Unless you plan on building something for mining, theres no benefit of increasing the ram speeds from anything beyond 1600mhz...the amount of ram matters more than the speed at that point.

The RAM should work, but will by default run at lower speeds - this will be shown in your BIOS. Overclocking, as mentioned above, will probably not make for any real world speed increase (though it might be fun...)

Thanks to everyone. It made more sense to cancel the order I place a few hours ago and order up a pair operating at 2133.
