Whats the difference between a regular XEON x3323 and an HP XEON x3323. I saw an HP XEON x3323 on amazon for $10, and thought that it meant it came from an HP system, till I noticed in the description that it has 16mb of cach. I have an optiplex 755, and saw that you can use a XEON x3323 provided you use a lga771 to lga775 adapter.

Solution

The one with 16 MB cache is significantly better.

I'm not too worried about the cach, i'm worried about it not being the same as a regular X3323 and not working in my 755.

Mega Micro Devices Inc. sells this, but no way does this have 16MB of L2 Cache; that must be a misprint on Amazon.
A simple solution is the 12MB L2 Cache LGA775 Xeon X3350 for $30 or so.
