I am getting a mifi from verizon & I looked at their coverage maps & I am like 1/2 a mile from being in the actual 4G LTE area but I am in 4g LTE extended, I get 2 bars 3g here on a 3g phone, How does the 4g work? I know it goes to 3g as backup so I should get something no matter what but do they run off of different towers than the 3g or is 3g just a speed/connection? I also ordered a signal booster for $350 just in case because I will prolly need it where I am at, them things are frkn expensive x.x , If I had other options for internet I would never put this much money into it but the best I have here is 1.5m dsl & its unbearable for gaming when other people are on it so I was hoping the 4g would be better since its latency is fast I heard, If it doesn't work I am stuck with this dsl until I move, its kinda my last hope for gaming without spending thousands of dollars that I don't have.

"sigh" I miss charter :'(

You can't get 4G on a 3G device.

I know that D:
I mean like if I only get 2 bars of 3g here is it still possible to 4g lte? does 3g go off of the 4g towers or are there different towers for that? I want to know if its possible to get 4g here but I guess its kinda hard for anyone to say until I get it.

I don't know if you will get 4G based on that. They may be on the same tower, but they are separate frequencies, which means separate antennas.
