How to use DirectX sdk

Hello, I am new to the whole Windows 8 thing and I am using windows 8.1. But I can't get DirectX sdk to install. Is there another/new way to make the sdk work in Visual Studio?

I was going to show you a link but lost power and lost it so is it you got a older program that requires it??

as I find each new windows seems to be short something in it that the older windows had like this 7 I use now I had to get windows files from XP and vista to make some of my stuff to work right the files were native in the older windows but missing in 7 so I just copied and pasted what was missing to 7 and it all works now [dll's for the most part]

I see I am just planning on dual booting 8 and 7
