I have a G860 with Radeon HD 7850 graphics. When I bought it, it ran at 53C max at full load. Is this normal?

After a year its now running at 63C at full load. I cleaned out the stock heatsink and replaced the thermal compound. Is this the fan dying? Is there a way to tell other than the hotter temperatures?

Do aftermarket heatsinks perform better than the stock one?

Full load can go up to 80C. I get similar results on my AMD Athlon II X4 645. Just to make sure though, what is your idle temperature?

Hey,

Thanks for the reply. I have since replaced the cooler with a hyper 212 evo and it runs at a cool 42C.

42C is at 100% load, at idle it is in the low 30s

42C is a really low full load temperature. If you buy a "K" (unlocked) processor you could overclock if you still get those temperatures.
