I bought a used Sapphire r9 280x dual x on eBay (I know all the risks I took) , my issue is the computer won't boot after powered off completely, but will boot if you hit the reset button after it doesn't boot, and it works fine. I didn't have this problem with my old card I replaced which was a evga gtx 640. I've tried all troubleshooting I can think of reseating, cleaning connectors, reset cmos, all drivers from old card were uninstalled. My system is brand new otherwise i7 4790k, asus z97 a, psu is evga supernovae g2 750w. I'm stumped.

This is odd. Try opening and closing your computer with no gpu in it. I mean physically remove the gpu from the mobo and see if the computer works fine. This way we can find out if the gpu is faulty.

Yeah it works fine without the r9 280x gpu, and it works fine with the old evga gpu in as well. I just thought If the gpu was bad it wouldn't work at all, not do this strange act.

lol. Now I can only suggest doing one thing, getting another gpu unless the eBay warranty is still left.

Yeah I've contacted the seller already waiting on him. I'd just rma the thing but sapphires warranty is not ebay friendly.
