I apologize if my post ends up sounding more like word-salad than an actual inquiry but here goes.
TL;DR ver.s below the wall of text.

A little over a month and a half ago, I ran into a strange booting error. My PC would power on, but Windows would not do its thing. I had to power off the machine by holding down the power button. After waiting a few seconds, I tried again and it booted just fine. I thought I was in the clear until the next day when the problem reared its head again.
This time I had to try multiple times(at least 3) for my PC to boot up.
After that, it worked fine for over a month, save for one instance where the error occured just once.
However, yesterday the problem returned, only this time I could not get it to work at all. I googled the problem on my phone and learned that it was potentially a RAM issue - so I removed the RAM(2x4GB) and powered on the machine - I was greeted with the sound of a continuous series of beeps. So, going by what I'd read I was able to reason that the problem was with the RAM. I tried moving it around to see if that'd help - it didn't. So, I decided to check if it was just one of the sticks causing me trouble. I removed one and my PC booted up just fine(just to make sure that was the problem, I reinserted the other stick and no matter how many times I tried, Windows would not boot)!
I was relieved. Until I had to power on the machine again today when the error returned. I had to retry to process just once to get it to work that time, but a thunderstorm interrupted my workflow, and I had to shut off my rig(just in case - the lightning was pretty close). When I powered it on a few minutes ago, the problem was there again, but I eventually got it to work.
I think it ~MAY~ also be related to another issue that sometimes happens when entering sleep mode - sometimes Windows crashed to a BSoD, but I've found no impaired functionality because of it.

My PC will power on, but Windows 7 will not boot. Based on some articles I've read, I've been able to reason that it's potentially a RAM issue - but even after removing the most affected RAM stick, the problem sporadically returns.
I also think the problem could be related to BSoD occurrences when putting the PC into sleep mode.
Any help would be appreciated!(Once again, I'm sorry if I didn't make sense. I've just had an unpleasant afternoon.)
