Well I built my computer about a year ago and everything is still running brand new. Over the course of the year I've wandered into overclocking but I never actually did it because I don't have any aftermarket fan. However, I want to overclock it to about 4.3ghz and do not have a clue about how to do it. I know I need to monitor my temps and voltages. As far as temperatures go, I can pretty much tell when it is too much. I do not, however, have any clue about voltages. I use HW Monitor to check all of it by the way.

My question is really more along the lines of if I should (or not) be able to overclock to around 4.3ghz. Also, if anyone has any resources they want to share (another forum post, etc.) feel free.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 @ 3.5Ghz (Stock fan but I ordered a Hyper 212 Evo last week so just go with that)
MB: ASRock 970 Extreme3
PSU: Corsair CX600 Builder Series (80Plus Bronze)
GPU: Radeon HD 7850

If any more information is needed, let me know. Thanks!

On a side note: Everyone was recommending Arctic Silver 5 for the thermal compound. However I got MX2 I believe. How different are they?

MX-2 is slightly better. Arctic silver isn't the default/best paste anymore, hasn't been for a while.

On a related note, mayonnaise works quite well too. I wouldn't use it but...a fun fact.
