Are the Xeon CPU's bad/good for gaming?

I've had my eyes on this processor (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116906&cm_re=xeon-_-19-116-906-_-Product), the Intel Xeon E3-1230V3. It seems like its an i7 at an i5 price. Are there drawbacks to this processor, or is it basically an i7 but cheaper?

I don't mind if there are no integrated graphics on the Xeon (a potential drawback), I just want to create a cost-efficient build.

Out of interested, I swapped my I5-3570k @ 4.4 GHz for the Xeon and I found the hyper-threading helped much more in games and other tasks than the o/c I5. Also it is very low power and runs very cool. I plan to keep the Xeon instead.

Compatibility wise, it was a straight swap. As above you can't over clock, but it's basically an I7-4770

Admirable
The disadvantage of going with the Xeon processor is that there is no overclocking ability, as the Xeons are essentially i7's without the integrated graphics and and overclocking ablility. They will game perfectly well seeing as for gaming, almost everyone uses a discrete graphics card anyway
