For a non competitive gamer, would a gaming or IPS panel be perferable?

I currently have 2 options at hand. I can either get a nicely priced and rated LG IPS panel monitor which I am currently leaning towards because it is also on sale and the idea of vibrant colors sounds nice, or I can purchase a run of the mill BenQ gaming monitor with faster response times and less input lag. I am just wondering if I get the IPS, will I regret my decision? The LG model I am specifically looking at is the 22MP56HQ-P. On the other hand, I have multiple choices from BenQ, all of which seem quite similar to each other. I would also like to know if LG is a reputable brand.

go with the lg ips. They are beautiful monitors, and you would really only notice the difference in first person shooters as far as input lag is concerned. the ips ones from lg typically also have a gaming mode which makes them almost as good as many other tn panels (you won't regret it if you arent a competition grade competitive player) my advice is to try the lg, but be open to asking about return policies

Does LG have the same reliability as say, Asus?
