Why are my temps so erratic?

My CPU freequently makes jumps to really high temps then will quickly shoot back down. It will often go from 55- 85degrees within two seconds. The main thing I notice in HWMonitor is the power the Cpu cores use change a lot. When cool it goes from 3-10 watts. Occasionaly it jumps all the way to 60 or higher and stays there for about 25 seconds and goes back down. It ususally does that once a minute. Every 5 minutes it will go higher and I get 90 freaking degrees. Why is it doing this and how can I fix it. It even does this while idling.

Btw, my cpu is the amd a8-6600k

Actually I remembered, there is no temperature probe**

I believe the temperature jumps around because of AMD's way of monitoring temperatures. Newer AMD processors (Like yours and mine) don't use a temperature probe, but instead use this weird algorithm that calculates temperature based on it's load, frequency, voltage, and some other stuff.
This method is a very inaccurate way of measuring temperature, and I think it's what causing your temperatures to jump around

Why is it doing this though? Other temps are all pretty low. Just the processor jumps.
