I need help on what drivers should i update because most of them come with an outdated CD of the drivers. So far i have found my Motherboard and GPU driver but i can not find anything else. I have found my DVD-Drive but when i went to update it Asus only has it for windows 7 and i have Windows 8.1 ao what do i do? If i need to update anything else please tell me because i am lost i only thought the GPU, MB, and DVD-Drive was the only things needing driver updates.
Here is my PC components.

CASE: Rosewill Challenger
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690
Motherboard: ASRock H97M Pro4
GPU: MSI R9 280 GAMING 3G 384-Bit

I am not sure about Gigabyte motherboard But Asus h77,z77 and newer have been optimized for windows 8/8.1. The first time I installed Windows 8 All the drivers were needed detected and installed like the chipset driver and other onboard devices. To be safe Always install the Chipset driver first. Another thing is When installing windows choose custom and turn Windows update off. That way you can install what you need first as it will need a restart every major driver install. Likely there is Firmware for the SSD in lost of cases that is not really necessary but it depends on the SSD. After that install graphics, sound, peripherals ect..

I do not have a Gigabyte MB. And what do you mean by Chip set, are you referring to the Motherboard update? If so is this what i should update? http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H97M%20Pro4/?cat=Downloa...
And also my DVD only has a driver for Windows 7 but i have Windows 8.1, what do i do? Here is the link to my DVD-http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=DR... Also here is the rest of what i found of drivers for my PC below. Is there any more and are these the right ones?

Sorry I don't know why i typed Gigabyte. I am having issues reaching the Asrcok site right now so I will look in a bit. But Chipset driver for yours would be The Intel H97 Chipset. The drivers can work on Win 7/8/8.1 in most cases.. It would say Intel Chipset driver for H97 or whatver chipset your MB has. This may not even be an issue and Windows will probably detect it as soon as you get to desktop.

Well the i5-5690 and AsRock H97M will work together right out of the box but i just did not know if updating would make them function beter.
Also my MB`s Chipset is H97 and supports haswell

Yeah, That is right. The Chipset drivers are not for CPU compatibility. In case of hardware compatibility issues, which in your case i doubt there is any, the motherboard usaully need a BIOS version update. The Chipset Driver is more for what the H97 is capable of in terms of devices, PCI-E, USB, Sata M.2 , Gigabit ethernet, I am guessing that Windows 8.1 will detect these devices and install accordingly.

Do have the parts now? After you assemble the PC Just hook up the Components and Turn it on. If you have an old graphics card laying around you can out that in first just to POST. Once you Navigate though the UEFI BIOS at least once then put the Windows Disk. ONce your done installing windows choose the option to let windows detect devices and install drivers. This should install the CHipset drviers, Sata, LAN, Gb Ethernet, all that stuff. If you want you can find the H97 Chipset Driver Manually and install for your motherboard. That should be all you have to do for getting the PC to boot into windows. You can get the Latest GPU driver from MSI or AMD sites. and then get your Audio driver, Most likely it is realtek HD Audio Manager this is not to important to update as often as your GPU driver so you can even use the Motherboard Utility Disk for that one. Also You have an OPtion to Install Intel Management Engine, I had it on my PC but I never used it and found it annoying with some tasks it ran. There are other non crucial drivers and tools that are available but once you find out if you need them then get them. But really you may only need to install 2 or 3 major drivers. The rest you can install as you go.

The only ones I see that are really necessary are the top two. The realtek driver and the Intel chipset driver.( INF) Though On other vendors I suppose drivers are different sizes the Z77 Driver i used are like 150MB for Asus
