What CPU is that paired with? My R9-280 (non-X) gets the following score with a Phenom II X4 965BE @ 4.0GHZ on a 1080p monitor:

Are you running at 1440p?? Because it seems a little low. Or perhaps my GTX 780 is just that much of a beast with>>

Nvidia cards fare much better on this bench test than AMD cards. I will test my 7970 (flashed with ghz bios) when i get around to it , should be pretty similar to a 280x.

I hope you're right... lol. My rig in my sig below didn't come close to OmegaGame's.

well I reran valley as high as it would let me on this crt office monitor 4 loops and still the temps of my card is 64c@33% fan max. but looking over what ya'll posted I guess my $120 powercolor card is doing fine on it for what it is will put it back on the 46'' hdtv at sometime but best I remember it was not much different from this ... I guess I got my moneys worth[???]

I'm running a custom built with the CPU being an AMD FX-8350 with an OverClock to 4.333GHz, 16GB of Radeon Performance series DDR3 at 1866MHz, and the GPU being an ASUS R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 with an OverClock on the clock speed to 1110MHz as well as a voltage increase, the GDDR5 OverClocked to 6560MHz and I'm at a power target (and reaching said target) of 110%. I have not changed the thermal paste or altered the cooling in any way. I pulled an average of 68fps on ExtremeHD, while my second monitor was graphing GPU info via ASUS GPU Tweak.

That is a normal R9 280 (non X version). It maxed out at 75c in a Fractal Design Define R5 with one extra fan up front.

@ OP what case are you using and what graphics card is that specifically? Do you have ample airflow to it? What do you mean it hits 99c then drops to 70c? Do you mean it runs at 99C when doing the benchmark and it idles at 70c? Or do you mean it will heat to 90c then throttle back to 70c (resulting in your terrible score)?

ed: Opps sorry mods, didnt realize this was an epic necro from last year. My bad.
