Limited access or no connectivity problem.

I just purchased a new laptop because my old one crashed. I tried connecting my new laptop to my WiFi on my router and it's not letting me connect. I am using my phone to upload this.

The problem I am having is that the problem is saying
"Verify the network security key for "NETGEAR".

I go to where I can do that, but to no avail. I am needing help with this problem so I can access the internet to do my work.

Thanks in advance for any help!

P.S- I changed the security key/passphrase when I first got it so I am unable to look on the router for it.

the mac address or the wireless device on the new latop must be in the permit list of the router wireless settings .

find the mac of the wireless device in the new laptop using cmd ipconfig/all the open the router main page and in the wireless page where there is mac address permit list had her for the router all of this is in the user manual for it .

I have no way of getting to the router main page to do so. It let's me connect to it, but says I need to verify the network security key. I have absolutely NO internet connection or way to get into the router settings.

reset your router to factory settings another that thing is you own router or someone else router .

My neighbors router. he gave me the password to it, i'm just having problems with it right now connecting.

There should be a little pin hole in your router that you can press with something small and pointy. That should completely reset the router. I suppose next time write your pass key on a piece of paper and keep it somewhere.
