i have a black metal bullet usb flash drive with toshiba chip but fails to format and wipe but only a couple times. wiping itas i ask but been on 27% going on 1 hour now. is it a bad drive?

It sounds like toast to me. (that is, my best guess is that the drive is no good)

Is there any data on the drive that you need to recover, or can you just get a new one?
