- PC: Hp Pavilion 500
- Linksys N600 (smart version)
- Modem N/A at the moment

- ACPI x64-Based PC
- Internal 300W (100V-240V)
- Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter
- Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter #2
- RealTek PCIe GBE Family Controller

- Windows 8
- ST1000DM003-1CH162
- MTS/Allstream Fibre currently I'm using wifi from my modem? Idk..
- All I can think of is my laptop and maybe 1 or 2 iPads

*MAIN ISSUE* Okay so I bought my new router seeing as I live in the basement my older router didn't have good connection reaching down here, and it was going fine up until about 1-2 months.

Having to use an Ethernet cord going from my modem upstairs down to the router down here, plugging into my PC it says "Limited".

*Edit* All of a sudden the ethernet works now? Wow what.. Sorry, I'll try to remember the issues anyway.

I think it said something about an issue with Ipv4 or something like that? I did a test where I opened up cmd and refreshed the IP or something like that and had a system restore a month before the situation, still didn't fix. Finally I got it to say that I was connected to the 5 bar wifi connection but it said I wasn't connected to any networks? But I had created a new network just for the new router.

I'd like to know if somehow my network got deleted and if it would let me create a new network even though it has an existing network on the router?

I am happy that your computer is working now. In my opinion, the two possibilities to the problems you describe are:

1. Dhcp error... windows is unable to get a valid ip. 169.x.x.1 soultion: open command prompt and type "ipconfig /renew" or "ipconfig /release".. (syntax might be wrong)

Or

2.ip conflict... your computer has a wifi card and nic card, depending on how your firewall/windowsl is setup both cards will try to use the same address
