Helloo,
My laptop screen has been broken for quite sometime now and I have been using an external monitor. Recently Ive experienced some issues with my laptop and would like to reset it to factory condition. When I click restart to reset, it wont show up on my external monitor, and it's impossible to reset blindly. Also, it takes some time after I turn my laptop on to start working on my monitor, only after it shows the Windows 7 Login. Can anyone help me out?

Have you tried replacing the inverter on your screen? Simply look up via make and model and find the inverter for $15 on Amazon or Ebay and plug and play. Most of the time that's the issue or do you mean the screen is physically shattered when you say broken? I'm thinking that with the factory reset perhaps the drivers fail to send signal to the monitor. On some laptops you can simply press the F5 key and it should send the signal but I'm guessing that you probably already knew/tried that, if not give that a go as well first. Good luck!

EDIT: Also see if there's anything here this guy shares that may work for you:

I had the same problem and I had already course to have the lookout do nothing when closed. After meeting with it for hours I came across using a wireless keyboard to initiate the commands starting with function f9 then function f5 to start the external display.
I had to redo the factory restore from the prompt using f9.
Got lucky hitting a bunch of buttons then bring tired and using the wireless keyboard.
Hope this helps
