I bought ddr3 2400 ram 2 x 4gb pair. my asrock 970 extreme 4(with amd fx6300 cpu) is recognizing it as 1600 ram why?

Its calling the 2400 ram, 1600 ram.

That's an older chipset, so it can't really read or understand memory that recent. DDR3-2400 is pretty recent, so it can't process it. Some software will probably still be able to take advantage of it even without your system recognizing it. You're good bro it works :p
