My main purpose to use PC is running visual studio. I want to upgrade my e7300 PC to a Motherboard that will work with 5th generation processor also.

What do you thing, Is i5 money wasting or I3 is enough for Visual studio. I hear quad core also improve compiler speed.
I read on Toms-hardware that 9 Series (H97 or Z97) will work with 5th gen. I read this http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z97K/overview/
Do someone have guideline for me to upgrade. I read online that Visual studio 2014 is coming. Someone please check and let me know about both processor 4690 and z97k.
