need suggestion about Razer Mechanical Keyboard.

I am newly familiar with Mechanical Keyboard. I mostly do typing. After some googling i found Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2014. I need some suggestion about this keyboard, or you could suggest alternative of this keyboard.

In my market Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2013 is available. does 2013 and 2014 differ many ? And is Razer BlackWidow Ultimate fully compatible with Linux(Ubuntu, opensuse) ??

Sorry for my bad English. Thanks in advance.

  1. It's a good keyboard but there are others out there that are much cheaper but with the same quality. I looked into getting the razer ultimate but in the end i didnt because i couldnt justify spending >£100 on a keyboard i'd literally use for WASD+mouse.

  2. The different editions don't vary much but i have a blackwidow and the build quality is really good :)

thanks for your reply. So you are saying that BlackWidow Ultimate 2013 and 2014 not differ much. if you say so i will go for 2013, because 2014 is not yet available in my market.

And finally is this keyboard fully compatible with Linux (ubuntu, opensuse) ? I am working on linux platform.

yeah, it's just branding really :) maybe one has LED lights, maybe one dosen't , but I think all blackwidow ultimates have the green LED's, I think on linux though, the razer synapse program is only available for windows and mac users, so you can only use it, but no macros ( which won't be worth the money) I'd just go and look for other chiclet gaming keyboards if i were you tbh
  5. The corsair k95 is really nice, expensive at $150, but for a full aluminium chassis, good build quality and excellent reviews this is probably what I'll buy soon. It will be tricky to remap macro keys on linux, but you can do it: http://askubuntu.com/questions/296155/how-can-i-remap-keyboard-keys and https://code.google.com/p/autokey/ You will need this too (The answer to the question), to enable the macro keys.
