Hi, so my first problem today since I've built my pc over a year ago. It won't turn on, checked everything usual and everything is in place. My psu could have gone? Is there any way to test this?

You can test this by getting another PSU from a fiend or a different computer, and trying it in your PC.
If this works, then the PSU is probably dead.

If not, you will need to test every component individually.

The psu powered all 4 of my fans, my dvd drive and my hardrive. I also plugged in the 8pin atx onto the motherboard, it didn't power up. The lights do not come on and no fans from the motherboard, this is when the 24pin connecter is bypassed with my paperclip in the green and black wires. When the 24pin connector is in the motherboard the psu will not power anything, so which is failing? Or both?
