Min temp -2.5 and max 125C? what kind of sorcery is this?

At a guess, that's an unassigned auxiliary temp monitor. Since it's not receiving temp data from an assigned sensor, it's basically trying its best to output temp readings based on whatever stray datum passes it's way. Either that or you have half your computer sitting in an oven with the other half in a sub-zero freezer
