hi, this is my first time here asking a question, this problem i have with my brand new gigabyte r9 270x is driving me nuts. i bought this graphic card 3 days ago and i have correctly installed it in my PC case, i have installed the latest drivers and everything is working fine, until i wanted to try how it works with games. I was very disappointed with the results. I played GTA IV on medium settings with less than 25 FPS, and i see other people with the same graphic card and about the same powerful components as I, and they play it maxed out with 50+ FPS, i have the same problem with other games too. Can please anybody help me?

As you mentioned, the R9 270x is a very strong card, so it can easily play GTA IV. It's very likely that the OC has damaged the card. If you put the clocks of the card above the stable clock limits you can get really bad results (lagging, freezing etc.). I suggest you to put the locks of the graphics card on the fabric. If you haven't overclocked, check your card for physical damage. It's unlikely, but some graphics can be defective. Also, it dcan be that the other components are the ones making the problem, but you said it's the new graphics, and that you used the pc with old components and you only changed graphics. If you could give me more details, that will help :)

I am aware of that, and because of that i didn't mess with the overclocking
