CPU Batch number, L3 and L4 cache

Ok, so i am going to buy a CPU off amazon UK so i was researching the newest I7 4790k. I was hearing that the L3 are the old ones and they aren't as good overclockers as the L4 which came out in 2014. The thing is the batch number on the 4790k of amazon is a L3, should i stick to a 4770k or should i get the L3 4790k ?

Well, the i7 4770K your going to have to overclock a lot more than the 4790K as it already has a guaranteed 4.4Ghz overclock because it turbos up to there. While the i7 4770K I've also heard is a tough overclocker.

Idk much about these things though, so I'd wait for someone else to respond.

Hello... do you have the article for me to read? Overclocking is a matter of heat and getting rid of it fast.

Sound like to me the same chip with 0.5 ghz of free ( base clock) performance for only $30? and they added some extra caps on bottom of it.

i have L4 ... but from what i read and research .... L3,L4 they both luck of the draw .... 1 L3 might be bad but the other L3 is good ... i wouldn't worries about that if you OC to 4.5 or less .... i had try 2 - L3 and 2 - L4 ( i was exchanging ) ... and from what i see ... even the one with high Vid seem oc better than the lower one. so good luck and keep your finger cross.
