How many watts do I need?

Hello all, I am in the process of putting these parts together but I'm not sure how large a psu would need to be to run things nicely.
I7 4790k
Asus Gtx 780
Z97-k mobo
1 dvd drive
1 Hdd

I wonder if it's better to buy a premium psu with just enough power to run things or a less quality psu with lots of headroom. For example a 500w seasonic vs a 750w corsair cx.

500w isn't gonna be enough, but I wouldn't recommend getting a 750w corsair cx. What would your budget be? With a 650w PSU you're gonna have quite some headroom, a 600w should be fine too.

The G2 is of higher quality, but the G1 isn't bad either, he'd be saving money on the XFX while getting an excellent quality PSU.
