how do i put my old hard drive with system into new computer without systems competeing

just want to copy files from the old start-up drive onto my current situation and then discard the old drive. seems possible, but is it?

OH yea totally. Are they SATA drives? If so just toss it in. shouldn't have an issue booting up. If you do just when you first start the PC up hit the Boot Menu Key and make sure to select your proper boot drive. Then once in windows its just gives it a drive letter like any other drive and just copy away!
