Hello. This is my first post on this forum so I'm very new to this community, almost as new as I am to PC building. Later this year, around November, I plan on building my first PC. As most are, it's going to be a gaming rig mainly.
I've been learning all I can, doing as much research as possible along side, with Linus' channel as well as NCIX and quite a few other channels on YouTube. As great as those channels might be and as much as I've been learning, I was eventually going to need more specific and personal help.

I have a pretty good idea of the majority of the components I'm going to put into this rig but, with the help of this forum hopefully, it could change from here to November.
Today the matter at hand is my motherboard, which to me seems to be the component that gives the most trouble to some people. I'm not sure what to pair an AMD 8320/8350 with, which are the two CPU options I've come down to. I've been looking at a couple of motherboards that look like good options but it's been a hard decision given that I've read people saying bad things about the Gigabyte board I will mention next.

The first board I came across is the Asus M5A97 R2.0 (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97_R20 ) This seems to be the go-to board for AM3+ CPU for most people as I've heard it be mentioned a lot.

And then I found this Gigabyte 970A-D3SP (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4591#ov) Browsing I encountered this motherboard which seemed to me a great alternative to the Asus one at the same price.

Both have almost the same price so that really isn't the concern. They appear to be very nice mobos, some having some features the other doesn't. Personally I would incline towards the Gigabyte as I prefer the color scheme much more as well as I see some features that I find very useful (such as humidity and electrostatic protection).

My main concern is that I've heard that the Gigabyte board isn't fully compatible with the Fx 8320 and 8350 and that it would make it perform a lot worse than it should. Is this true? What are the advantages that one board has over the other? Which should I consider and why?

Where I live (Argentina) pricing and availability are always crazy, so most likely any other board you can recommend won't be easy for me to find and/or afford, but feel free to suggest other options.

Thanks in advanced.

+1 for the GA-970A-UD3P

This is one of very few 970 boards with 8+2 phase voltage regulation, LLC and an overclock friendly BIOS. I got my FX 6350 stable to 4.950 GHz under water on this board. Good bang for the buck. Supports up to FX 8350.
