How do I get this RAID 0 Stripe off?

Hey guys,

I have a spare 64Gb SSD (Crucial M4) that I used to use in RAID 0 but I now want to give it to a friend BUT whenever I try to install Windows 7 on it, the drive won't show up.

I've tried loading the Intel storage drivers - that didn't work.
I've tried all of the SATA ports (even the Marvell ones) - that didn't work
I tried a new SATA cable - didn't work
Formatted to NTFS and GPT - didn't work
I tried to get into the RAID control menu (Ctrl+I) but it wouldn't let me...

Is there another way I can get rid of the RAID stripe? Some kind of software?

Solution

If you did all of those things and the drive didn't come ready, then it has nothing to do with it being in RAID before.

It's most likely the drive is failed.

So here's a little update - I tried formatting the drive and it's been stuck on 82% for about 3 hours :p so it's probably the drive that has failed... which sucks... but what can you do? :p

Thanks for all the help though, much appreciated! :)

Also, I don't know how to mark this as Solved :D
