How long will two R9 290s in crossfire last at 1080p before I have to turn down graphics below medium settings to achieve 60fps? Give me a rough estimation in years please.
Thanks for the responses,

Although no one can truly give you an answer to that, we sure as heck can guesstimate!

Most hardware will be up to par, if it's top of the line (as yours is) for 4 years. The HD 5950 was released over 4 years ago, I believe 5 perhaps, and it's still packing a medium-ish punch in today's gaming.

Having two of the cards would keep you up for a while longer, given your titles support crossfire.

Don't take my, or anyone's, word for it though. With increasing optimization, and speedy development, you never know!

that's a waste of money. A single R9 290 is made for multi-monitor setups, using 2 in crossfire for a single screen, you'd get a 20% increase in performance at best. The scaling would just be terrible at that resolution. Keep your single R9 290 and upgrade it in 6-7 years, hmm maybe that's too long 5-6 years is more like it.
