Got a budget of around £1200-£1300 ($2200 ish) for a decent gaming PC - Suggestions and reccomendations

I'm looking at building new system hopefully soon, but I'm not sure exactly when since as I'm a student money is kinda tight, though I dont want to skimp on something like a PC since a decent one now could potentially last me 4 or 5 years. As I've already said, I'm a student so 50% of the use will be just simple stuff like word processing, and internet browsing, but the other 50% of the time I'll be gaming (with games like fairly heavily modded Fallout:NV and Skyrim, as well as others like Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider lately) I put this system together after another topics suggestions, and I think I have a pretty decent PC lined u[, so I'm just looking for any more recommendations and suggestions as to where I'll be able to save a little or get some more bang for my buck, so to speak.

Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 450D
Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 7
CPU: i5 4670k
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16GB 1600Mhz
GPU: Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II 3GB
HDD/SSD: WD Black 1TB & Samsung 840 Evo 250GB
PSU: Cooler Master V700W
OS: Windows 8

Here's a skeleton build that you could take for consideration. It'll perform around the same as the on you are considering already.

With your budget, you could go with a 4690k instead of the 4670k. It has better TIM which will give it better temperatures.

The cpu cooler you can change if you would like, there's still a good bit of the budget unspent if you decide to go with this build.

The motherboard is a higher end motherboard that'll support a nice overclock if you would like.

RAM, it's ram, I just went with the cheapest CAS9 1600Mhz I saw.

SSD, feel free to change if you feel like you'd want a bigger SSD.

GPU, the r9 290 is around the same area as the gtx 780. It has 1gb more vRAM which would be beneficial for more mods and...

For light use and gaming, only 8gb of RAM is necessary. I personally wouldn't get the WD Black. Blue is perfectly fine and cheaper. The i5 4690k is a newer version and around the same price. If you buy this later, the new Broadwell CPUs could be out already.

Looks like a pretty solid setup. You could maybe save some money (about £80) by getting a factory overclocked R9 290 with a non-stock cooler (I still love my Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x). But the GTX 780 is also a great card. Get a bigger HDD, I would suggest a 3TB, it's amazing how fast they fill up once you have a few games installed and especially if you start adding DLC and mods etc. But you will have space to add other HDD's in the future as and when needed. Any idea what monitor you ar egonna get?

I have a monitor already, as well as an alright mouse and keyboard; though even if I upgrade those it'll be separate to the PC so they dont matter as far as this topic goes.

Thanks for all the suggestions though, particularly on the i5 4690k :) Its a shame that Amazon doesn't offer it though since they have everything else so I could just keep it simple and get it all in one order ahah

The build seems great. I'd go with Calnin's options. Get the i5 4690k and use Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler. And also, considering your usage, go with the R9 290 as it'l save you some. However i'd add that pay a tad little attention to finer details as these are the components you wouldn't want to change everyday. Like try and get a better cabinet with proper air-flow like a Coolermaster and memory stick from Corsair Vengeance or a G.Skills Ripjaw. The power supply is also very important though the one suggested seems fine.
