I have a Toshiba laptop that has XP. It used to show a volume icon on the toolbar, but now it has disappeared. Does anyone know how I can get it back? I have tried going to the control panel and clicking on sounds, etc & then clicking on show volume icon, then restarting my computer. That didn't help. Thanks in advance for any help!

To add the Volume icon to the notification area of your computer, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Copy and paste or type the following command in the Open box, and then click OK:
3. mmsys.cpl
4. Click to select the Place volume icon in the taskbar check box.
5. Click OK.
