I am having an issue with my computer, it all started when notepad++ wouldnt open, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall an restarted the computer to see if that would resolve the issue.

When I tried to turn the computer back on the Blue Screen of Death appeared. I was able to get into safe mode and tried to do a system restore but every time the computer restarted the same Blue screen of death would appear.

I have tried various things like a CHKDSK (which doesnt work because even when choosing system repair the BSOD appears)

I have got into safe mode and tried a clean boot (same problem) and finally tried cleaning the registry.

I am unable to get into any of the bios settings and the bootup menu just crashes when trying to boot up in an attempt to reinstall Windows.

I couldnt access any of the BIOS options so I tried a CMOS reset by putting the pin on the motherboard.

Now when I try to load up the computer it gets passed the loading screen of the bios but then either goes completely black with a flashing cursor or loads up a blue screen with Gigabyte UEFI dualBIOS at the top and locks up.

Can anyone help?

After clearing CMOS you've reverted your BIOS to default settings, seems like one of those default settings is causing an issue, you'll have to look around in your BIOS to find out what's set wrong.

A failure in booting could be due to BIOS not detecting your HDD, or your SATA controller set in a different way than the one your HDD got installed (maybe you had your HDD installed as IDE mode, default settings in modern motherboards set it to AHCI, that could be the reason of the failure in boot).

The freezing right after passing POST could be caused by an overheating CPU, check your temps as soon as you get into BIOS to check this possible issue.

Thanks for your answer but as I mentioned I cannot even get into the BIOS settings to check temps or reload default settings none of the F# key options work they all lead me to a blank screen or the 2nd bios screen locked up also my hard drives are not in any of the formations you have described they are both set up as SATA my motherboard doesnt have options for IDE
