Hey guys, need your help. I want to overclock my Core 2 duo E5600 cpu From the native 3.0 ghz to at least 3.5 ghz. But the contradiction is that I am completely new to this side of the computer world. On specifications front, I have a G41 chipset coupled with 2 GB of DDR3 Ram. Please help.

G41 chipset? I don't think I'd even bother. They aren't known for being good OCers. That said you have a high CPU multiplier so it might be possible.

3000 / 200MHz = 15. 3500 / 15 = 233.33. This means you need to set your FSB to 233 or 234. If your motherboard supports it you need to find a way to keep your ram at whatever speed you have. You shouldn't need a CPU voltage bump, but no telling if the G41 will do this.

Again, G41 chipset. You might not have access to the FSB settings. Bios's are different, you'll have to look for it.

Is it a 5600 or 6500. I've heard of the 6500, not sure about the 5600. If you are brave you can google for a BSEL mod for your CPU.
