Hi,

I looked around the forums and couldn't find any related subject so I'm posting this.

I'm looking to upgrade my T-3400 to 4gb of Ram. It is running 32bit windows xp and I understand that I won't be getting the full 4 but this was cheaper than buying 1gb for an unknown reason. The memory I have in the computer is two 1gb Samsung M391T2953ez3-ce6 PC2-5300E. I bought a Samsung M393t5750exa-c36 PC2-5300P. Thinking that because they are both 240 pin, 667MHZ, PC2-5300's that they would work together. However when I install the 2GB my T-3400 beeps 6 times and refuses to start. I there any chance of getting this to work or did I buy the wrong memory?

Thanks in advance!

have you tried it with just the new 2Gb alone? Make sure its not a dead stick? Also sometimes those Percision work stations can be a big picky about which slot you put them in. They are closer to Server hardware than normal desktop hardware and servers are SUPER picky about making sure the RAM is all the same and to make sure its in the right slot as well.
