I have an msi motherboard, it has 4 USB ports, 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports but they do not work properly.. i recently bought the motherboard for building my gaming PC... here is the problem eg1. my tower comes with 4 USB ports, if i plug my mouse and keyboards wireless adapter into the motherboards usb port (both 3.0 and 2.0) it dosent work well, the mouse gitters alot, somuch that playing a game would be impossible but when i plug it into the built in ports on my tower it functions flawlessly... eg2. i have wireless usb adapter, i have comcasts 50mb/s service.. when i plug the adapter into the motherboards usb port, i only get 155kb/s ( no ididnt make a mistake) but when i connect it to the built in tower ports i get up to 52mb/s (45mb/s the lowest) whats wrong with my motherboard, i have all drivers installed... my specs are: intel i54670k. 600w power supply. 1x 8gb ddr3 1866 ram. sapphire r9 280 gpu and an msi z87-g41... whats the problem??? something not plugg in correctly?? please help

Solution
Obviously the easy answer is the USB ports are defective... however some things to think about

-a wireless dongle on the back of your motherboard won't work... typically the case is too much interference and will interfere in the transmitting.

-USB 3.0 support isn't native in windows or many bios... you don't want to plug mouse or keyboards or much of anything that might need to be used prior to windows loading into a USB 3.0 port

-you might have bad drivers, or drivers that failed to install properly... bad south-bridge drivers or bad usb drivers can cause this effect. I'd navigate to the MSI webpage and get the latest drivers for everything. Install them, reboot the pc and see if the issue goes away.

when i try to install some of the updates. i get this message " this computer dosent meet the minimum requirements for installing this software".. i think you were right about the signal transmission.. i tried a few usb flash drives and they worked but my xbox 360 wireless receiver didnt work correctly along with the other devices mentioned
