After much research on this forum and elsewhere, I have been unable to find out why my computer will not stay asleep.

I have changed the power configurations, turned off wake timers, checked all scheduled events and turned off any hardware set to wake the computer (by looking in command prompt). Command prompt itself does not tell me what woke my computer from sleep. I have turned off the ability for it to wake through LAN and have left my ethernet cable unplugged to no avail.

My computer wakes up every morning at 6am without fail. I am unable to determine what it's doing at 6am, nothing is scheduled as far as I can see. Sometimes it awakes, goes back to sleep and awakes again in a matter of minutes yet nothing is installed or changed from what I can see.

Also, if I put the computer to sleep before 11pm it wakes up again throughout the day. :(

I'm running windows 8 on an msi z87-g45 gaming mobo. Thanks for the help.

Yes, the computer wakes from sleep even without the ethernet cable plugged in so I don't think lan is causing it this issue.
