I have a Compaq Presario V2000 running Windows 8.1 enterprise and recently changed it to what I thought was an update and now I get more pop ups , it's much slower almost to the point where I cannot use, it's just that slow and it's needing to recover almost every other thing that I try to place on the internet, for example this took at least a half hour to get to where I am now please reach out team.

download malwarebytes, adwcleaner, and maybe rkill...

run them in this order -
rkill
malwarbytes
reboot
adwcleaner

should be good to go. though if you installed any "borderline" software that brought that stuff into your system and you don't uninstall it, it will probably keep loading that stuff onto your system. Any toolbars? any webgaming aps? any "freeware"? those are the types of things that this stuff comes in with... most torrent browsers will do this as well.

got it, had to learn the hard way the new software suggested the update and my machine is known for bad 3D interaction which is what I needed. I've since pulled it all out used some malware and some adware protection and I'm doing much better, wasted 2 days though

did not use the Rkill but used the other 2 and I am running much better what is this Rkill? Thanks for everything

rkill stops "active" virus programs, so that when your antivirus uninstalls them, they don't just reinstall themselves. that's why you want to run it first.
