Very slow boot time from SSD on Windows 8.1 Pro

Hello, I have recently purchased a 240GB Corsair Force GS SSD and installed Windows 8.1 Pro on it and I am experiencing quite slow boot speeds despite everyone commenting on how fast this is.

My PC came with Windows 8 preloaded and had a bios speed of about 3.6 seconds, and took about 5 seconds to get into Windows. After installing the new SSD, and installing Windows from genuine HP Recovery Media I created, the bios time varies from 16-25 seconds, then would take about 5-7 seconds to get into Windows.

Surely the boot time should be much quicker than that, at least on par with a standard HDD.

Once in Windows it operates as it should in terms of speed, but the boot time is driving me crazy.

I installed this with no other HDD connected, I have changed the bios back so the Secure Boot and Fast Boot are enabled as before and disabled the Legacy Boot. I have also tried the SSD in all of my SATA ports to see if that made a difference, even though HP claim that all the SATA ports are 6GB/s.

I have tried moving this SSD in the boot order above the other HDD, I've even disabled the other HDD so it doesn't load until Windows starts which makes no difference. Even after unplugging all other media and the other HDD, the boot speed is still unaffected.

I have tried installing windows 7 on this SSD on the same PC and the boot speed is as expected, boots into Windows in about 8 seconds, but Windows 8.1 Pro seems to be struggling, and I would like to stay with Windows 8 rather that 7.

Can anyone help me solve this issue?

Not sure why your BIOS time is so long. Are you having it verify your 16GB of Memory every time? There's an option to turn that off. The Windows boot up time sounds right, but your BIOS shouldn't be taking that long to go through.

Also, make sure there isn't any driver software needed for the Corsair SSD. I know the Samsung 840 EVOs need the Samsung Magician software to perform properly. There may be a similar need on the Corsairs.

When your BIOS is posting and information is being shown, does your RAM literally "count up" in front of you? Or is there a manufacturer "skin" that just sits there for awhile before the Windows logo comes up?

If it's the former, there's a setting in your BIOS for it, but I don't know where and it's labeled differently depending on the manufacturer. Either way it sounds like your BIOS is waiting on/looking for something on startup if it's taking 25 seconds to get through the system messages.

It has a Windows "Skin" on there, however when I disable it, it shows this screen and nothing more until it has decided to boot into Windows.

I have tried a bios update and that had no effect at all.

I have re-mastered my PC back onto the original HDD, used cloning software to the SSD and the boot speed is 2.7 seconds on the BIOS and about 1-2 to load Windows, which is exactly as I wanted, however, the second I plug my 2TB data drive in, its back being slow. Any remedies?
