Hello. Recently I've been in the market for a new PC and I think I've found a relatively decent, cheap CPU that I can use for light gaming and some other things: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646g3258 . The thing that really caught my eye is the OC potential as I have heard that this CPU can easily get 4-4.7 GHz of processing power without even using an aftermarket fan. The only thing that worries me is that I have also heard that you should get a z97 motherboard for this chip which are expensive and if so I would much rather just get a different motherboard and preform a BIOS update. Still I want to be able to access the OC features and I'm not sure if I can without a z97 chipset board. Can someone confirm if this motherboard: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-h81me33 (or other boards like it) are compatible to overclock with?

No, it won't work. The G3258 is a Haswell refresh chip, and you need a 9-series (Z97 or H97) board to support it. try this:http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h97m.
Hope I helped!

And BTW only the Z97 boards support OCing.
