What can I do to make my video card work the way it's suppose to? Benchmarks say it should get 76 fps on Tomb Raider on Ultimate settings minus TressFX hair. I put the settings on normal and benchmarked and got 24fps. I have the newest update on CCC.

Are you sure v-sync is not enabled? This is very weird, maybe a faulty card.

Oh yeah and my monitor is my 40" Sony tv. HDMI to it. Is the CCC different from the video card driver? And the settings should be default. Can V-sync screw stuff up?

Ahh that's the problem, you have v-sync enabled with a 40" inch tv! Disable v-sync and the fps should be fine, but keep in mind the fps will be lower then the benchmark because of the 40"

Ok sweet. I'll have to mess with that. Do you know about how much the 40" display affects fps?

It's a bigger resolution, the bigger the resolution the more juice it takes from the card. But I know you'll do fine with that sexy graphic card... just keep v-sync off!

I think his issue is that most TVs are 30hz, 45hz, or 59hz. Unless he has a high end TV that's running 120hz, but those are rarely purchased because of their price. Vsync essentially caps FPS at the display's refresh rate to keep the screen from tearing(looks like horizontal lines if you move really fast), through a method of delaying some frame renders.

So if he has a 30hz display that could result in a 25fps performance. Definitely worth a try to turn V-sync off. But you can get some screen tearing but it's no big deal unless you're one of the few people that it really bothers.

I would definitely suggest double checking the VSync and Refresh Rate options for the game. I actually just finished playing through the PC version for my YouTube channel and had to make sure it was set to 60 Hz refresh rate and VSync was turned on in the settings. So, double check what your display can be turned to, 60 Hz or whatever it can be set to...and then double check the refresh rate and VSync options in the game. If you are still having problems after that, then I would suggest running the in game benchmark to see what fps you get.
