Confused on which is better

Athlon X4 760k with a r9 270 vs FX 6300 with a r9 270. I know the FX 6300 is better, but is it going to make a big difference in games? My budget is tight and I am struggling to decide. Could I just overclock the 760k and get similar performance? Is L3 cache going to effect anything much?

Oh YES the L3 cache effects games. the L3 cache is more memory on the CPU that the CPU doesn't have to send out to the ram to store. This makes the CPU much quicker. ( Yes this is an overly simplified explanation of L3 cache but you get the idea) the Athlon X4 750k just barely beats out a Phenom II X4 965. So the 760 will be a little better but nowhere near the performance of the FX 6300. Go for the FX 6300.
