Massive cpu lag in BF4, think its time for a new cpu?

I am running a fx-6120 (bleh) with a 7870 and I am getting massive lag spikes that render multiplayer unplayable to less than 5 fps. Is it time for a new cpu, I was thinking about the fx-8320 (mobo supports it and its what I can afford).

These lag spikes happen when I am in a multiplayer game with plenty of action going on. 100% cpu usage all cores maxed out.
Its not my GPU, can run bf3/crysis 3/skyrim on high.
Neither is overheating a problem, temps stay below 70 celsius.
Not sure if the game is still broken, its been about a year since release. But you never know with that one.
I have all the latest drives and updates.
Bf3 and other games run like a dream.

Is it time for a new cpu or is the game still broken and nothing I can do?
If you need more information please let me know

From what I've seen the AMD FX 6120 doesn't have any compatibility issues with BF4. And it's not because the processor is bad. To be honest I don't know, if everything else works well it's not hardware problem I suppose.
With that GPU you should at least be able to run the game at High settings with relative ease.

Does it only happen in multiplayer? It can also be a internet connection problem, but that is very unlikely.

I have glary utilities to take care of that stuff, I will have to close out of everything and see if that solves it, usually have chrome and minecraft open to play in between matches. And yes it is on the 64 servers (only ones I play because I like the massive action)
