Gruzl69 :
I have an older desktop with Intel pentium 4 processor. Not sure the specs but will it work with windows 8? I will be using for Day trading so need real time processing. Otherwise which processor is recommended?
Hi,
Windows 8 requires that the microprocessor support the PAE, SSE2, and NX-Bit instruction set extensions.
All pentium 4 microprocessors support PAE and SSE2, but the NX-Bit was introduced with the Prescott microarchitecture. This means that Willamette and Northwood generation Pentium 4 microprocessors will not support Windows 8.
