I am planning on building a gaming pc that has cross fire with 2 r9 270x. I was having trouble deciding if i wanted a single 50 inch tv, 2 32 inch tvs, or 3 24 inch monitors. I plan on mostly playing fps, simulators, and emulators. all are going to be 1080p a 60hz. i have a budget of 600$

Solution
I don't see the attraction to TVs as they pale up against 144 Hz monitors. This is what i would use budget permitting

But not sure what your $600 covers....is that just the GFX cards or GFX cards + Monitors.

For 3 monitors, I'd use 3 of these ..... two monitors I would only use if I had a spare laying around

With the 8xx series rumored to drop 3rd quarter ... you getting real close to the point where GPU pricing will take a tumble.

In my experience 2 displays and gaming do not work together, 3 displays are awesome for sims, for fps's i would rather play on 1 screen since the peripheral view distracts me a little bit. Now for the size i wouldn't get a 50 inch unless you are gonna be playing from 10 feet away i find the optimum size for pc displays is 22-27 inches. Also I'm uncertain if 2 r9 270's would be able to run a multi monitor setup

I have just heard good things about having a big display as a monitor. take barnucles nerdgasm for example. he has 3 46 inch tvs. of course i dont have that much money. from his vids though, he says that it is easier on the eyes

yea I know. I'm subbed to him and i really like his ways and trust his opinions, but from personal experience for me big screen don't feel right. maybe you have a big screen at home already where you can try it out because it woulnt be nice spending $600 and finding out you do not like it

As far as screen size goes you just need to think about how far you're going to be sitting from the monitor. For example, I sit roughly 4 feet from my 27" and its pretty comfortable. I have also have a 40" TV mounted above my desk and I comfortably sit about 7 feet away while I'm playing BF4. Here is a link to a page detailing recommended viewing distances for TV's. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-1ixPa2ojhYJ/learn/learningcenter/home/TV_placement.html
I personally run ASUS VE278H monitors, they are reasonably priced (on Amazon I got mine for $180, but they run around $230 on Amazon), and they have an 2ms response time, which is what you want for FPS gaming.
If you choose a 24" monitor, ASUS also makes a 24" version (VE248H) for about $165 on Amazon.

P.S. I'm not sure how much you are paying for the 270X's, but if I were you I'd get one 280X or even a 290X (ASUS has a 290X for $540 after rebate on New Egg and you get $150 worth of free games)

I am getting the half the parts for my birthday, CPU, Graphics card and motherboard. I have bought the case, os, dvd drive, power supply, and RAM. It will 360$ in all for both graphics cards and parents set a budget of 700$. I loosely based my build on Austin Evans Neutron. http://austinnotduncan.com/builds/neutron/
