OS and necessary/important files on SSD, other files on HDD.

Hi guys,
I was wondering how you can install an OS(Windows 7) on an SSD and all the rest on an HDD. My friend bought a smaller SSD(120gb) solely for his OS, all the other programs need to go to an HDD(program files, documents, downloads,...).
I've been researching it but all the techniques seem unofficial and non-failproof. Surely windows must have some support for this?

It's very easy, if you are starting with a freshly built never booted pc I would only install the SSD until after you have installed the OS. Then once that is complete plug the HDD in. Then whenever you go to install a program or save a file select the C drive for the SSD and the E drive for the HDD. Those should be the default names for them

When installing a program just change the install path.

I read online that there are some programs which insist on being on the primary drive where your OS is. Is this true? Otherwise changing the installation path would be the easiest solution!

Thanks, that's what I'll try. (On a sidenote, he bought the same SSD as you have =D)
