I will be building my first PC and do not know too much about parts and request help and advice for my choices

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: within the next month

Budget Range: 1200 - 1300 (will be picking up most of my parts from MSY)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: surfing the net, gaming, watching movies

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: New computer

Do you need to buy OS: no

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: mainly using http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf

Location: City, State/Region, Country - Sydney. Australia

Parts Preferences: No preferences, whatever is best

Overclocking: Yes
SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200

Additional Comments: Quiet PC and very cost efficient. Does not have to be the best PC. (e.g.: Need to have a window and lots of bling, I would like a quiet PC. Please also list specific software or games you're using)

Why Are You Upgrading: My current computer is 6 years old and extremely out-dated

The parts I am thinking of getting:

with all parts available at MSY for pick-up

Im not sure I want to be spending even more money on a motherboard, but then again im not too sure. Also, is the r9 290 worth the extra $30 to upgrade from a 770

What do you think of MSI and their motherboards ? in particular the Z97 PC Mate as I am looking for a motherboard that can be stable when overclocking (adequate power phases) but does not offer excessive features to boost its price.

Thoughts ?

Whats a mobo you would recommend for that 120 - 160 AUD price ? for my needs of less features and more stability when overclocking

In your opinion is the Z97-A worth $195 ? in terms of reliability and stability ?
