Am looking at building my first system but need advice on a motherboard. Dont plan on overclocking and only plan on ever using 1 video card so I guess this leaved me using the H87 or H97 chipset board. I want it to be from Asus and be ATX. Anyone ever use any of these boards and what do you think of them. Would like this system to last as long as it can say about 6-8 years.

Intel i7 4770
8GB ram 1600
120 GB samsung ssd
1tb hdd
radeon r9 280x
corsair 300r
corsair 750W psu
windows 8.1 64 bit

Should I up the ram to 16GB?

I recommend this motherboard: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-maximusviihero

You won't need 16GB unless you plan on doing video editing.

I agree with the first response on RAM... You can always upgrade later if you plan on it lasting 6 to 8 years.

Not sure you need a $200 motherboard though. Just about anything from ASUS or EVGA that supports the processor you want will be very reliable. Is there ay particular reason you want a full ATX sized motherboard? Since you are only going with one video card, would micro-ATX be acceptable as well? You could save a little on the cost and get the same level of performance and reliability...

Here are a few boards that are around $100... still made by ASUS, still the same chipsets you want...

That would be cool man i never thought of a micro atx board just didnt think it would still be a quality board. Was looking at using a i5 4690 or going the amd fx 6300 route... ur opinions?
