I have had this problem before and have solved it by taking my mouse apart and cleaning it, but this time it did not work. My mouse at random times scrolls down infinitely. I can stop it by moving my mouse wheel up and down multiple times and then it is good for around 3-5 mins before it freaks out again. Also context menus disappear very quickly and is also solve via the same method. I have replaced the batteries with fresh ones as they were low and it did not solve the problem. I do not know the model of the wireless mouse because it was a prize I got at pax east 3ish years ago. Could this be a software problem? or is it a hardware problem indicating it is dying on me?

Solution
This could be caused by a huge range of different problems and finding the exact problem would be difficult.

However you did mention these three words:
1. "Logitech" My response: In other words the mouse was most likely cheaply made to begin with.
2. "Wireless" My response: I never use wireless peripherals, they have never worked well for me.
4. "3ish Years ago" My response: Most of my peripherals only last 1-2 years because of the heavy use they go through. 3 years old is getting too old and too outdated.

In summary: I think its time to buy a new mouse :)

The fact that is 3 years old will not help. I think its safe to say its just time to buy a new mouse dude...
