Ive had my pc for 6 months with no problems, but less than a week ago my PC's audio had stopped working. Trying 3 sets of headsets did not work, My PC will not pick up any audio at all (music, videos, and games) but despite not picking up any audio from music and etc It emits a electronic hum that doesn't stop. ive tried updating / downgrading drivers, uninstalling realtek audio and so on. Also even when I mute my headset - the electronic sound still emits from it. I cant think of anything I did except move my pc too a different room. There doesn't seem to be anything to interfere with it either.

What do you thinks causing this?
Do you think buying a soundcard would fix my problem?

Sorry if I missed something you need, this is my first time on this forum.

*edit
Also It seems my pc is detecting an audio device being unplugged and plugged in every once in awhile, Ive checked and re seated my motherboard and made sure nothings loose - but Its still detecting it. Ive also have done some system scans and have found nothing

Thanks for the suggestion, other than my snowball microphone 2 HD audio devices showed up - It says both are working properly and the drivers are up to date, however the noise is still there - I have realtek uninstalled at the current moment though.

Ive uninstalled it in the past and It worked, I believe its basicly just a simpler way of controlling what audio device your using - Ive tried messing with it through the past week and uninstalled it again since nothing worked and I was told to by a friend of mine.

Ive installed it and the noise is still there,Im wondering If buying a sound card would fix it - as nothing else seems to work.

I checked and it wasn't loose or anything - after another day of trying fixes Im just going to RMA it If I can. Thanks though for the ideas, sadly nothings seeming too work so hopefully this will sort it out.
